Along the way we meet a stranger and he explains the Old Testament scriptures to two of his followers who were so depressed about Jesus’s death they didn’t recognize him. Then he breaks bread with them and the mystery is revealed – they were in the presence of the risen Savior and Lord! As history has proved, the consequence of inaction can lead to death… The German church in the 1930’s was quite silent in the face of evil. We know what followed.
